Ramadan Dhikr Course – Day 18

RAMADAN DHIKR COURSE
DAY 18:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

ربي اشرح لي صدري و يسر لي امري

Laylatul Qadr is fast approaching and thus we have today’s dua, which is
Dhikr of the Day
اللهم بلغنا ليلة القدر و تقبل قيامنا و صيامنا و اجعلنا من الذين غفر ما تقدم من ذنوبنا
Allahuma Balighna Laylatul Qadr wa taqabbal qiyamuna wa swiyamuna waj’alna minal ladheena ghufira ma taqaddama min dhunubina..
Aameen.
We ask Allah to make us among those who witness Laylatul Qadr.
Actually a quick example:
Before Ramadhan came we sincerely asked Allah to make us among those who will witness this holy month, and Alhamdulillah we did.  There are others who died the day before Ramadhan began so say Alhamdulillah for this blessing.
Before Ramadhan began, we completed our shopping to stock food at home. Why?Because we didn’t want to miss out on time that can be spent in doing Ibaadah.
So let’s not miss this golden chance of witnessing Laylatul Qadr. Plan ahead on the different Ibadaat that you will do on the last ten nights. (Remember there’s no specific day and thus I recommended we start early for the odd nights).
Action of the day
As life goes on, we might witness the following: some people have faults and defects, they might miss a leg, miss a hand, miss an eye, they are tested in some way or the other. Even yourself, you are not perfect! It might be your hair, it might be obesity or it might be a crooked backbone.
Subhaana Allah! That’s how we are created!! Perfection is for Allah, the Most High!
What do we do when we see such things in others? Sometimes you don’t even realize you lack something but other people see it – what are they to say in such situations?
Let’s revive a Sunnah today!
Whenever you see such things in people – Mind you, NEVER LAUGH!! You never know when Allah might test you or your offspring with the same or worse due to the fact that you made fun of a people! Wanaudhubillahi min dhalik!
Besides, that’s not Islamic etiquette
What are we supposed to say in such situations?
Have a look at what Rasul (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) taught us:
الحمد لله الذي عافاني مما ابتلاك به و فضلني على كثير ممن خلق تفضيلا
Alhamdulillahil ladhii ‘aafaany mimma ibtalaaka bihi wa fadhwalany ‘ala kathirin mimman khalaqa tafdhwila.
All praise is due to Allah who granted me safety from what He has afflicted you with and He has conferred on me special favors above a great part of His creation.
What to do:

  1. Memorise this dua
  2. Don’t forget to always say it slowly when you see someone having an imperfection
  3. Don’t forget to teach your kids or family this dua.

Thank Allah for the blessings you have.
NB : The dua in dhikr of the day is not from the duas narrated by Rasul (sallalallahu alaihi wasallam). It’s a formulated dua where meaning is good.

بارك الله فيكم

وجزاكم الله خيرا

سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا اله إلا أنت استغفرك و أتوب إليك

والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
