Ramadan Dhikr Course – Day 21

RAMADAN DHIKR COURSE
DAY 21:

Subhaana Allah! We have approximately just 8 or 9 days left! Please make the best use of them.
The ending of something is very important. Just like in a discussion, what matters is how you present your “conclusion.” Let’s not be lazy in completing this beautiful holy month with goodness.
Dhikr of the Day
Allahumma inni as’aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wal-‘amalalladhi yuballighuni hubbaka. Allahumm-aj’al hubbaka ahabba ilayya min nafsi, wa ahli, wa minal-ma’il-baridi.
(O Allah! I ask You for Your Love, the love of those who love You, and deeds which will cause me to attain Your Love. O Allah! Make Your Love dearer to me than myself, my family and the cold water).”‘ At-Tirmidhi. He said: The hadeeth is hasan.
This was one of Prophet Dawud’s عليه السلام supplications!
In the Qur’aan, we see many places where Allah mentions those whom He loves and those whom He doesn’t love.
For example, in surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 76:
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِ وَاتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Whoever fulfills his promise and guards (against evil)– then surely Allah loves those who guard (against evil).
Subhaana Allah, we find it that never has Allah said that He loves the rich, but He mentions characteristics – the just, the one who makes tawbah (repentance) , the one who is clean; and He hates the one who is boastful, etc. In all of these, there’s hikmah (wisdom).
The level of your imaan matters a lot.
“احفظ الله يحفظك..”
Protect Allah and He will protect you.
Are you the one who is able to protect Allah? Scholars have defined this to mean: You are to do as per his commandments and avoid and abstain from that which is forbidden. By this, it means you are able to protect His Deen, to make it as pure as the way it was revealed to us.
Imaan rises and falls. It continuously fluctuates, so don’t lose hope if your imaan is low at times. Try your best to be a better Muslim and you will experience Allah’s Help in your striving.
Stop complaining about why destiny decrees this and that. Allah is the controller of destiny, and you are complaining about the decision of the Most Wise, the Most Knowing! May Allah protect us!
If we really want to make a change in our lives:
1. Start by making du’a regularly.
2. Make positive changes in your life by striving to protect His Deen and training yourself to have the characteristics of people whom Allah loves, mentioned in the Qur’aan.
3. Have sabr. I know it’s easier said than done, but remember Allah is with the sabirun (patient ones).
So, smile and be happy! Worldly problems are never meant to last. This world and it’s problems are temporary. Have hope in Allah’s Mercy.
In a nutshell, we can say if you truly love someone, you will never ever think bad about him/her. Whatever bad is done to you by him or her, you always have a positive attitude/reaction towards it.
Just take a moment to ponder over this.
So, in our du’a above we asked Allah to make us truly love Him. Make this dua very often.
Action of the Day
Make sure your niyyah is intact.
Try to find the true stress reliever from the Qur’aan from today. Read and understand the words.
For today:
Friday Special!
Try your best to read Suratul Kahf while understanding the lessons learnt. If you have read it, then ask yourself, did you get some relief when reciting it? For those unable to read it, please read the tafsir (explanation and interpretation) of the surah.
NB: Don’t forget to send salutations on our Beloved Prophet
