What Your Mother Doesn’t Tell You

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

ربي اشرح لي صدري و يسر لي أمري واحلل عقدة من لساني يفقه قولي

ربي زدني علما وارزقني فهما

She may not tell you this, but your mum prays a lot for you. She prays for your prosperity, progress, success, but most importantly – for your safety. Your mum has a huge stock of worry, and a good deal of it revolves around your welfare. She may not tell you this, but your mum is constantly turning to the Almighty, pleading that He bestow His protection upon you, so that you return to her safely each time you go away from her.
She may not tell you this, but sometimes, what your mum wants from you is for you to sit down and talk to her. To listen to the stories that she has been a part of. To understand the lessons she learned from her experiences that she now wants you to know so that you can get a head-start in life. She may not tell you this, but your mum wants you to establish better conversations with her. Conversations longer than yeahs and nopes. Conversations deeper than, ‘What’s for dinner today?’ And, definitely, conversations that are richer than, ‘That’s not how that’s pronounced, Mom!’
She may not tell you this, but your mum continually strives to drive you towards righteousness. She may not tell you, but she sincerely prays to Allah for your guidance; for you to get guided closer to Him and to remain steadfast upon His chosen path.
How many times do we see sudden transformation in people whose mothers we know are pious women? Isn’t there a correlation hidden there somewhere? Don’t we ourselves undergo situations that feel like divine interventions in our lives, which wouldn’t have happened under normal circumstances?
Perhaps these situations solicit gratitude that are owed to our mothers. The more we look back on our pasts, the more we uncover unpayable debts overdue to our mothers. This may sound cliché, but it is absolutely true. No human does for another as much as a mother does for her child. No other person will look out for you as much as your mum does. And for that, it is necessary that you actively love her with all your might.

Because that is what she needs from you; but it’s also what your mother doesn’t tell you.

بارك الله فيكم

وجزاكم الله خيرا

سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت استغفرك و أتوب إليك
