DAY 12: THE SWORD OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH ﷺ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had many swords, but no one knows how many precisely. We know of only one sword from the sahih ahadith, and it was Dhu’l-Fiqaar. This was the most famous of the Prophet’s ﷺ swords. The pommel of Dhu’l-Fiqaar was made of silver. This sword was named so because it had a fine and beautiful engraving on it, and the Arabic word for “engraving” is “fiqrah”. The Prophet ﷺ acquired this on the Day of Badr, and this was the very same sword he had dreamt of on the Day of Uhud.
