How do you stop chatting with men (who are not your mahrams) on social media?
The topic explains itself very well.
Many of us have social media accounts, whether it is Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Twitter, Skype, you name it.
And in the process of exploring social media, you end up getting a short love message, “Hi babes” or “How are you darling?”.
Woah! Who’s this guy?
But remember, it didn’t start out of the blues that he suddenly started calling you darling and sweetie.
Well let’s look at how it started.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
How are you? What’s your name? What’s your favorite color? What this and what that. And finally this ends with: I wish I could see how cute you are. Your words describe how you are. Please send a pic, trust me I will delete it…blah blah blah.
Quite interesting right?
Well that’s just a piece of it, it starts with Salaam and finally ends with love quotes.
That’s how men are.
Well, you can say it depends on how you talk.
Now that’s what we are talking about today!
How do you TALK?
Let’s see what Allah says:
يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِّنَ النِّسَاءِ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا
“O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not SOFT in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word.” Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 32
There’s our answer
Do not SOFTEN your talk!
Subhana Allah the verse talks to the wives of the prophet, but also it includes us, the wives of the prophets- we all know how chaste they were.
Whenever you see he is going into IT just hold it right there. Don’t continue telling him your likes and dislikes. And first of all- who is he to question you?
Be wise, don’t soften your talk. Because that opens up his heart to you, and he ends up yearning to have you.
Men have a certain disease in them.
And hey! I didn’t include your spouses! So you can soften it up to the blue sky.
Have a blessed day.
