This had been narrated by Prophet Muhammad’s صلى الله عليه وسلم beloved wife Aishah (R.A), she says of her husband:
“He always joined in household chores and would at times mend his clothes, repair his shoes and sweep the floor. He would milk, tether and feed the animals.” [Sahih Al Bukhari_ Hadeeth No 644]
The above Hadeeth is a striking reminder to all out there who have carved in a stone the fiction that all the household chores are the sole responsibility of women. It is a responsibility of women no doubt, but it is a man’s responsibility as well to serve as a helping hand. As per Islam a person earns heavy reward for the tiny deed if carried out with a sincere intention to please Allah and follow his Rasool (S.A.W).
Helping your wife/mothers/sisters in kitchen, mending your own shoes and clothes or cooking for yourself, and family that won’t mean you are going to lose your manhood in any way.
In fact you are going to get rewarded (In ShaaAllah) if you do it with the intention of reviving a Sunnah , or with the intention to help and show love.
Let’s revive the neglected Sunnahs together!
